I run ProjectX on my 2gb ~1hr long recorded TS File, and it outputs files of ~1GB with a duration of only ~33min.
I wanted to use ProjectX to fix the TS stream, because no matter how many times I would try to encode the TS File, it would always go out of synch (usually after each cut commercial).
All settings are what it came with - I didn't change anything.
I am using Project X 0.90.4.00/30.03.2006

When ProjectX does not complete a *.ts file is because there are too many errors to produce a compliant file.

 Questions:
1- Are you feeding ProjectX the original captured file?
2- What SW and process are you using to edit commercials?
3- Which encoder do you use?
4- Are you encoding MPEG-2 for DVD or something else?

I am feeding it the file I got from GB-PVR recording

Right now I am cutting out the commercials w/ megui's AVS cutter

I use Xvid and LAME mp3 encoded w/ megui

My final result I want is an xvid mp3 avi

Try running the original clip through MPEG Streamclip. I use this when ProjectX does not work on a file. In MPEG Streamclip just save it as a new TS file. Then use the new clip to edit commercials and create XviD & MP3.

According to the ProjectX forums, ProjectX doesn't support ATSC very well, which was my source of the cap . . So In addition to dropping the damaged GOPs, it also dropped about every other GOP, resulting in the 1/2 size/duration file. I've switched to using mpeg2-repair and dgindex to demux. Then when encoding I stopped using TIVTC - It goes out of synch for some reason.
