I want to have a freeware that can join audio files without recompressing or re-encoding.Please recommend me a freeware that will join without distortion or any 'additional' sound at the joined point.

It depends on the format. For WAV, Audacity. For MP3, try MP3DirectCut

In Audacity you import the tracks, copy and paste the bits into a single track and export it.

MP3DirectCut you will have to play around with. I have only ever used it to cut MP3 files, but people here keep saying you can join with it as well.

I have just downloaded Audacity since it sounds like it's very easy to use.Now I have multiple mp3 files and if I click on 'export as mp3',will the file be encoded or changed in any way?Cuz I'd like to keep the quality exactly as how it is now.

Audacity will re-encode. As I said in my first post, Audacity will only work with wav files without re-encoding (WAV generally being uncompressed PCM content, although not always). There are very few MP3 tools that will not re-encode.

As has been said several times in this thread, MP3 DirectCut. It will join similar MP3 files without re-encoding.

  9. MP3DirectCut is pretty straight forward to use for this. The program can have multiple instances running so start the program twice. Load the first file into one instance, the 2nd fileinto the other instance. For the one you wish to copy and then paste: Edit->Select All->Copy, then in the other instance: Edit->Paste. Done.
You can also highlight in the middle of a track and copy or paste from and to there too.

Both files have to have the same samplerate and stereo mode for this to work.

Pretty easy really and not much different from Audacity's way of doing the same thing.

    Have fun.

  10. If you just want to join, no reencoding, here is another crude method that works sometimes:

    1) Open "cmd" to get command prompt
    2) If your files are file1.mp3 and file2.mp3, then type command "copy file1.mp3+file2.mp3 file3.mp3". Remember you will need to change to the required folder using "cd" command before typing the command.

your file3.mp3 that was just created should work, but not all results will be satisfactory.
