There was a problem with the keyframing in the first release of Vegas 7, but fixed in a later patch. Make sure you upgrade to the latest version of Vegas 7

If you mean the "hidden effect":
Just move your mouse to the bottom of the effect window, until it changes to a line.
Then drag this line up, and the hidden timeline appears. Itīs like resizing the inner content of the Effect Window.

    Hope this was your problem.

Vegas 8's keyframes always worked, afaik.

Can you post a screenshot of an effects screen so we can see what you are seeing ?

The help files cover keyframing. Basically every effect has it's own keyframes. You find them at the bottom of the configuration screen for that effect. You will have to read the help files for the specifics, but it is pretty straight forward. Change the settings, add a key frame, repeat.

    What version of Vegas ?

I am using Vegas 7.0e and have them. Like I said earlier, I know there was a bug with the initial release of version 7 where the keyframes disappeared, but this was fixed with 7.0b. I had not heard of it re-appearing in Vegas 8

  10. Try this...
    1. Move your cursor to the bottom of the effects window.
    2. Click and hold on to the left mouse button.
    3. Drag upwards.
