  1. I know how to crop AVIs, Divx, with Virtualdub....but is there a program that will do that with MPGs (MPEG-1)?

    Thanks,

    Chris--
Tmpgenc's Mpeg Tools option will let you cut and paste mpeg1 files. You can use the cut function and select the source range that you wish to keep, and save it. I have used this to remove the credits from some movies.

  3. No no. :) I mean...like cropping the video... like if I want to crop the black out of a widescreen MPG, etc etc. Like you can do with AVI's with VirtualDub.

  4. You can use TMPGEnc for that. Just use the clip frame filter.

Keep in mind that you'll have to re-compress the MPG file which means that the quality will be further degraded.

There's no way to crop an MPG file losslessly.

  5. Ahhh, I think I know what you mean, atleast with TMPG...I stioll don't know hwo to do this with VDub.

Not sure if its the same in all versions of TMPG but if you select clip frame, set the setting so the black letterbox is clipped out and then in arrange setting you select full screen, not full screen (keep aspect artio)

Does that do what you want, clip out the black and expand the picture to full screen dimensions?

If not, what exactly are you trying to do again
