  1. Has this happened to anyone? I also get the occassional blue screen noting pciidex.sys as the source of my problem but I have not found any useful information on how I can fix it.

Is it a "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" blue-screen error message? Then it's usually a memory problem.

    Check http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm

  3. Yes. I actually replaced the memory with an old set of mine and it still happens.

Seems like the last time I looked up the "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error, it was typically driver related. May be try updating or reinstalling the motherboard drivers. Aside from that, you would likely have better luck looking up the actual error codes from the BSOD.

  5. I'm not sure what to do at this point because I've looked online and there is no clear cut method for fixing this problem. I've reseated all my peripherals, changed the memory, updated the motherboard drivers, etc. For the record the computer doesn't always give me the BSOD. Sometimes it just restarts without any message or a different one involving a different .sys file.

Have you looked at the minidumps that windows leaves after BSOD?
    Try this.

IRQ conflict? You could check your MOBO owner's manual to see which slots are shared IRQ.
That's what was causing my reboots when burning DVDs.

Are you sucking too much juice out of your PSU? You don't have too many peripherals running on a 200 watt power supply? Does this ONLY happen when you attempt to burn a cd/dvd?

Temps are fine. I downloaded the debugging tool but I have no idea how to use it to read the dumps.

I only wish that was the case but no it's nothing that simple and straightforward.

Were you getting the same BSOD message I'm getting?
