    Hello

Im trying to convert a movie like I always used to do in the best using CovertXtoDVD. What happens is that it converts the movie then asks me to put in a DVD-R to burn it, I do this and select the lowest speed 4x.
I see a light on the burner like its showing that its being used and the progress bar is being filled however when it sais operation complete I pop in the disk into a dvd player and it doesnt work, then i tried to put in in my computer and its showing that its a blank disk. When I look at the disk mark on the back it looks as if its almost full... Does anybody know what could be wrong? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated . Thank you.

Two suggestions: Try burning with ImgBurn, though I doubt that's your problem. And try a different brand of DVD media. What are you using at present?

If you use ImgBurn, you will at least have a burn log, which may tell you the problem. You can post it here. Usually if a burner fails to burn properly, something in the software will alert you that there's a problem. Even poor quality media will burn, though you may end up with skips toward the end.

Not too likely, but check that your software isn't set to just do a trial burn. If the disc seems to be burned, then either it's really messed up or your players just can't read it. I would try it on other set top players. It happens at times that the same burner that burned a disc can't read it. Not sure why.

BTW, burners are cheap enough now, so if you have an older one, maybe time to replace. I burn SL 16X at 12X and I have yet to have a coaster unless I messed it up myself. But I use Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden DVD media and ImgBurn to burn. I have several different brand burners and they all work with no problems, even with Verbatim DL + media. And ConvertX is a very stable program and not too likely to mess up a conversion.

hey redwudz, thank you for being the only one to actually try and help me... Fortunetly I finally got it to work, what I did was I got a upgraded version of convertxtodvd... and I dont know if thats what made it work but I also used a Comp USA DVD-R instead of the Tayo Yuden I was using... I assume it was the program though that fixed it. Thanks again.!
