    Hi all! My first post!

Iīm having some problem with the files of my captured videos, they play normally in VLC or Windows Media Player, but when i try do reencode them using Tmpgenc or other video encoders the encoders only recognize part of the video...

Just now i captured a 1h50m video and Tmpgenc only recognizes 1h05m of video...

Iīm converting old VHS tapes to VCDs using a cheap USB video capture (Easycap) with the program WinVDR PRO and capturing in XVID+MP3.. the capture process and playback works fine, only when i try to edit the file to convert it to other format or to cut scenes the editors donīt recognize the entire video...

While itīs annoying not to be able to cut scenes that i donīt want i can live with is since my dvd player reads XVID without any problems, i only need to resolve this problem so i can convert the videos to MPEG1 to play in old DVD players that family and friends have... my family have a lot of old VHS tapes that iīm capturing and they want to play them without the need to buy a new DVD player....

    Any ideas?

    Thanks...

Try open the video in virtualdub or avidemux, does they also report incorrect time? If not try resave as a new avi, choose video->direct stream copy and audio->direct stream copy and file->save as new avi in virtualdub.

If that wont work try repair the avi xvid file using divfix++ or Digital Video Repair (make a copy of the video first).

Virtualdub reads the entire file, but when i resave, the video of the new file is completely garbled...

divfix++ also reads the entire file but when i order it to fix, it simly cuts off the part beyond the error...

Digital Video Repair says that the file have no errors and refuses to work...

I finally found an enconder called "SUPER" that reads the entire file and converts it to any format that i want, including MPEG1, so the problem is resolved, even if i still donīt know what causes the error...

    Thanks
