I need some help on trying to hook up my gateway p-6831 fx laptop to my Panasonic HDTV. The laptop only has VGA and HDMI outputs, but I'm not sure if that is compatible with the tv that I have. The back of the tv looks like this -

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can get this to work in anyway, it will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If your tv has no vga or hdmi connections you need a converter box. Google for vga to svideo or vga to rca.

    What panasonic model?

Older "HD Ready" TV sets are being squeezed out by HDCP. You won't easily find an HDMI to analog component solution. That leaves SD VGA to S-Video (awful quality).

I went out earlier and picked up this http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3012897&CatId=1408 VGA to 3 RCA. It worked great. Now I just need to pick up something for the audio.

for audio you will need to use the laptop's headphone jack. get a 1/8 phono to rca cord.
