LG DVX-392H - Nice but problems... or any hacks?

Hello everyone,

just just bought this LG DVX 392H dvd player...

Although it plays nicely, it only plays VCD's

From the USB it plays everything VERY nicely!!!

Doesn't play DVD's or CD's... not even music cd's!

What are your thoughts? I was trying to see if it's a "zone" problem but can't find any info about checking it out...

Anyone knows anything about this player??? I hope so, or I'll have to turn it back...

It sounds broken. You'll need to return it. DVD region coding has nothing to do with the problems you have.

Yes in deed, it was broken... I took it back and they told me that the laser had a problem... changed it for a new one without any questions, and within seconds!

What about the multi-zone capability? Anyone knows anything about it? I found that the family of the chip is the 36969 (while the previous model DVX 298H had a chip family 36868 and the "hack" for this model does not work for the newer DVX 392H).

You can try looking in the DVD Hacks section to the left under LISTS or a google search. If you don't find anything, chances are the player cannot be hacked.
