i tried to convert the following (rmvb to psp (h.264 avc) but SUPER says that i do not have this directshow filter found on my computer. even if i uncheck the directshow encode box it doesn't work. what does it mean? i already installed the whole klite codec, but to no avail.

  2. Try installing real alternative, k-lite doens't include it, but the k-lite mega does. I won't lecture you on the potential problems of codec packs today

If you already have working good codecs, K-lite will usually over write or damage them and may even install older versions. And none of them may end up working. The pack also does not un-install cleanly and may leave a lot of junk on your system causing future problems. And it adds codecs that you will likely never use and they just add more unnecessary junk to your system.

Most times ffdshow is all you need for most common formats to play back and it's not a codec pack. Or use VLC Media Player and don't add any codecs. It has it's own. If you add Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative players, that covers most other commonly used codecs.

the reason i don't use VLC is because it's lacking an essential function that i'd prefer to have - custom scaling of the video with numpad keys. eg i wan less of the black bars, i can just shift the video and expand to fill the area.

so it's not recommended to use klite? =/
