Ok i'm ripping south park dvds and turning them into x264 AAC mkv's - I've got crap ears so i wanted to just rip the Closed Captioning - unfortunately VSrip is ripping only sporadically.
For instance it outputted a 2 KB .srt for an episode where it ripped some captions but no others. I played the folder in PowerDVD and it displayed every caption - so the captions are there VSrip just isn't ripping them - WHY?
Maybe there is another program to get out CC's but please HELP

I have also found VSRip to be sporadic with ripping closed cations. Give ccextractor a try - it used to be a command line only program, but now comes with a nice GUI that makes things a lot easier. I have found it to give excellent results every time, and will even maintain horizontal positioning for the captions should you so choose. \give it a try and let us know what you think.
