i am trying to re-encode avi file (xvid codec) to x264 using megui....but can't seem to input the avi file in it.
In megui menu tools> avisynth script creator> video input my avi file....then megui crashes!!why??

also tried to creat an avs file with note pad with following command
    DirectShowSource("c:\path\filename.avi")

this avs when opened on MPC plays fine .....but when i open it in windows media player , it crashes...similarly when i try to input the avs file in megui it crashes as well.......

any suggestion how to get meguui to accept my avi files....... i am able to encode vob to mkv in megui ..but not avi(xvid) to mkv.....please help...thank you

  2. What kind of audio? Did you specify audio=false in your script?

What version of MeGUI? are you using the development branch?

What version of avisynth? Try uninstalling and reinstalling only keeping minimal plugins

As an aside, why would you want to encode an XviD .avi to x264 .mkv ? You only lose quality
