  1. I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find it by searching, sorry if the answer seems obvious.

I have a configured the Xvid scratch pad the way I like it with specific settings I want to use, I however noticed it only offers the specify bit rate setting for xvid and not target file size?

I looked at the auto encode option and it has No target size (use profile settings) but it also offers the ability to specify file size? This leads me to believe I can't use my desired scratch pad settings and specify the file size also? Is this correct or am I not properly understanding what the auto encode means? I take it to mean it ignores profile settings and uses some auto-magic method to determine what to use based on what it thinks best or something?

I'd just prefer to set a target file size instead of limiting it to a flat bit rate and have it encode with the options I want, ie: it needs to not use GMAC, QPel, etc.

  2. file size = bitrate * running time
