I need to render some DV files into VOBs, in the simplest way possible. I would use Premiere Pro and ProCoder, but I need a free and easy solution for an inexperienced friend. Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

ConvertXtoDVD is probably the simplest way, but it isn't free.
DVD Flick is also easy and free.
FAVC is free and arguably higher quality, but may need a little more experience.

When you say render to VOBs, I assume you mean author a DVD.

Yes, author a DVD. I like in ProCoder that you can simply create menu-less DVD VOB files that can be burned right away, without using another application for DVD authoring. Many thanks, guns.

Consider DivxtoDVD the free old version of ConvertXtoDVD and Super as well as DVDFlick
