    in a player or PS3 that is not Divx Ultra certified?
    I mean can I play the files without the menus?

    Nope. A non-Divx Ultra player will just ignore everything else and just see the movie. Note : some players only look for files with a .avi extension, and won't see .divx files on the disc.

    This is a good question.

    The answer is "Yes" but only if...
    the player can play regular Divx files (ie. Divx version 5 or above) and the Divx file doesn't have options that the player won't support (ie. QPel, packed bit stream, etc.). If the file is encoded as Divx Ultra but with what Dr. Divx calls the "Home Theatre" profile, it will work. Yes, players that support Divx but not Divx Ultra can play Divx Ultra stuff fine and just skip the menus, assuming that the Divx file doesn't have options that the player won't support as I said earlier.
