    Hello,

If anyone can help me I really appreciated. The problem is I wanted to go into some websites that I usually go on but this time they wouldn't let me in saying I need to enable Cookie in my browser.

So I search the internet to find how to do just that and I follow what it told me to do ...I went to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTION > PRIVACY > set Level to MEDIUM ...i press APPLY then OK but the problem still occur...I don't know what is wrong . At first I thought my computer might be infected with virus so I download the AVG FREE to scan but the problem is still there.

Anyone have any idea why I can't enable cookies. Please help. Sorry if my english not good.

you can try going to that i.e options/privacy tab and clicking "sites" and typing in the website you want to always allow. click ok then at the bottom of the tab click apply and then ok again. close and restart i.e.7

  6. Do you have any security programs/firewalls that might prevent enabling cookies?

Try setting the privacy setting lower momentarily, press apply, close the browser and reopen it

I have firewall before this happen so I think that not the cause but I also turn off the firewall, still doesn't help.
I also lower the setting in the privacy tap but the weird things is whenever the close the screen and then open it again, it is never at the level I set it.

  10. Some security suites have privacy filters and cookie controls that may override your manual settings in IE. An example would be ZoneAlarm Security Suite; to fix this you would adjust the cookie control to "off."

Do you have any other security suites/applications? If you do, check the settings.

Managing cookies with IE is one thing it excels at. Here's complete directions:

    Managing Cookies in Internet Explorer:
    • 1. We first want to remove all cookies from all sites. Be aware doing this will log you off from any sites you are currently logged into. Click: Tools>Internet Options>General Tab ..... Under the heading "Browser History" click the "delete" button. This will bring up a pane for selecting what you want to delete, click the "delete cookies" button. Click close
    • 2. Click the "Privacy" tab, then click the advanced button. Put a check next to "override automatic cookie handling", select the option "block" under both first part cookies and third part cookies. Put a check next to "always allow session cookies" .Click OK.

These settings will block all cookies except ones placed for sessions such as the one used to keep you logged into this forum. It should keep you logged in as long as you keep Internet Explorer open, if you close Internet explorer the session cookie is deleted and you will have to login in again. Be aware some sites cannot function properly without cookies, e-commerce sites probably top the list.

In case you are wondering the first party cookies are ones that would be set by the domain you are viewing, the third party ones can be set by another domain while you are viewing a page from the first party. The third party cookies are generally the ones used to track you through other websites. This third party cookie is set with the help of the first party, they do not automagically appear.
    • 3. Of course you may want to allow cookies for trusted sites so you don't have to login every time you close Internet Explorer, this is actually quite simple to do. When you load a page from a site with the above settings if it tries to set a cookie and its blocked there will be little indicator down in lower right next to the small globe and the word internet. Mouseover it and you'll get a title "Privacy Report" . Double click this icon which will bring up a list of domains and cookies that have been blocked. Right click the domain you want to allow and select "always accept cookies from this site".

If there is no icon then its something else blocking them.

I just notice when I open any websites (yahoo, hotmail, etc) it all shows the icon "Privacy Report" didn't matter which website. So I load hotmail, double click the icon and right click the domain and select "always accept cookies from this site" ...so would it change the word block to accept? or anything ? because it didn't change anything. I still cannot log in those sites that I right click...am I doing something wrong.
