i'd like to have powerVCR save a recording in one mpg file, instead of splitting it.. i'm having problems joining the mpgs with tmpgenc.. the audio and video seem to get out of sync when i merge the mpgs. is there a way to disable this in powerVCR?

I would like to know if there is an answer for this problem too. I use powervcr for the MPEG2 not the MPEG. The MPEG2's are near perfect while the MPEG1's totally suck. I just wish you could keep PVCR from splitting the files. There is some lag when it finishs writing one file to the disk and starting another one. This would account for the sync problems. I have a small lag even on my AMD 1600+ with ATA133 7200RPM nonfragmented drive with 1gig ram. PVCR would be THE capture program in my opinion if it didn't split the files. Let me know if you find a solution.

Yep, see the link posted by rocko14, they have the registry info there.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -

Thanks a ton. I have patched the registry but I haven't tried PVCR yet. I am going to do that in a bit. I will let you know how it works.
