I am thinking about buying a CPU motherboard combo that uses the ECS GF7050VT-M motherboard which uses the NVIDEA GeForce 7050/610I Storage chip set. Any input on how well SATA optical drives run on it? I know that some storage chip sets don't work properly with SATA optical drives but I haven't heard any comments on the NVIDIA chip set.

The only issue I'm aware of, is with the older chipsets. You shouldn't have any problems with new chipsets.

Just make sure to use the latest NVIDIA drivers from their website. Don't use the ones from the ECS website or mobo cd as they may not have the latest drivers. Also make sure you disable RAID in your mobo bios and set SATA to IDE. Best SATA dvd burner on the market right now is the SAMSUNG S203B & PIONEER 215.
