How to recover Files from an MP4 player?

I just formatted my MP4 player, how do I recover all my lost videos, music and pictures etc? Can anyone recommend a freeware please, I downloaded one earlier but no luck

if you did a full format - you are not likely to get them back. if it was a quick format something like recover my files might work. as for free ones you'll have to search.

i went on windows media player and selected format from the list, it was most likely a quick format, my MP3 player doesn't come up on any hard drive or drive list for any of these recovery tools for some reason

What is the specific make and model of your player?

Which freeware did you already try? No point in recommending Flobo, for instance, if you already know it doesn't work in this case.

My MP4 player is the Samsung YP-P2JCM using the current 4.13 firmware.

I have tried quite a bit of them including some trialware, have used Flobo, Recuva and some others, since none worked, I just left it, and re-synced my music and I will re-convert my videos again soon.
