Hi guys! I have a Sony Handicam dcr-trv33. However, I don't have a tripod, or the device that creates a flash when the picture is taken.

I can live without the flash, but I do need a tripod. I know that s/h costs are a killer, but I noticed many of the tripods on newegg.com have free shipping! The only problem is, I don't know which one to get. I don't care too much for exceptional quality, so long as it is functional. I just need one that fits the model of camera I have.

As far as the flash things go, I have no idea what to do for that... Any advice? The tripod is more important, though.

People are going to want to know your budget on the tripod. You can get one for $20 to $2000. Pick a price range and you'll get some suggestions.

I picked up a nice Manfrotto hybrid tripod recently for around AUD$130. Works well for both still image camera (full floating head with spirit level) and video (head can be locked to allow only tilt and pan).

Hmm. $20-50 would be ideal, but I can go up to $100 I guess (I'd much rather not though)
