Initially my system used to recognise the vcd and played it automatically on my creative player. I did something when I re-installed my nero and pressed yes to one of warning it gave. After that I find that my system plays automatically only for music CD's and system doesn't run for VCD's. Also it doesn't run for any of the self executable CD's on insertion.
Could somebody help me in solving this problem?

hey..
I am sorry for that... i was little bit curious to get the answer ..so that i could get it done this evening...further i found some 7 people read the msg with no replies..that's the reason.... -
ok i think you got the point about bumping your own posts so ill help you out now.
probably the best thing for you to do is to get TweakUI. this is a program that was originally put out by microsoft and included on the windows 98 first edition CD. for some reason microsoft stoped including this on the CD for everything after win 98SE. TweakUI will show you many windows settings that are not usually easy to find. go here and get it, http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui and once it is installed you can open the program and turn autorun on and off in the paranoia tab by simply checking or unchecking a box.
you do not need to get this program to fix this but i would really suggest getting it since it can be very useful in many ways besides this.
if you go to this page http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article03-018 it will explain how to turn autorun off for various windows OS's. you can use this information to follow those instructions to find the setting within windows and activate it.
generally speaking you can find a wealth of help regarding windows here, http://www.annoyances.org but please be sure to use the search feature ( http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/search ) before posting on the forum.
good luckpeace out,

AWW MA! you know i'm not like other guys. i get nervous and my socks are to loose. -
I use NERO to add a PLYR directory and an autorun file into the root of the VCD. The PLYR directory contains the Media Rush ION player and gui.dll, and the autorun file points to that.
ION, for those of you who don't know, automatically plays VCDs as soon as it is run, using the Windows Media system.
This way, my VCDs autoplay on any Windows system, regardless of whether the Creative software is installed.
(In my experience, the added directory and autorun file do not cause any problems playing the discs in good DVD players either).
Regards,
MITS
