DVD footage has HISSSSSSS in the background ????????

Just downloaded some great old dvd footage , the picture is fine both since it's a old 1990 video the AUDIO has a horrible hissssssss noise in the background. Whats the easyest way the get rid of this hisssing noise or tone it down a bit ??

I removed the vast majority of tape hiss from an old VHS transfer of a concert then tweaked it a bit with various EQ settings.
