I'm separating 5.1 ac3 audio to wave for listening purposes only. I'm getting wildly different audio levels depending on how much video I sample. If I copy an entire 50 minute TV episode (retail dvd) with Dvdshrink, demux with Pgcdemux, and split the 5.1 with Belight into 5 waves, the audio level is low. With the episode on the harddrive, if I take a short sample video (with Dvdshrink) from it, the audio level is 3-4 decibels higher. However, if I copy the same sample from the dvd itself (with Dvdshrink), the audio level is even higher. What's going on?
