I have episodes of a show that are a little too fast (the music is too high pitched, even the video moves faster than it's supposed to. None of this is to a heavy extent, but enough that it's definitely noticeable for someone who seen the show enough). What can I use too slow it down a little bit? I've looked at some of the programs I already have, like MPEG Streamclip and ffmpegX, but I can't tell if they'll be able to help me. I know that iMovie can adjust this sort of thing, but it doesn't seem very customizable, and from past experience with it I'm worried it'll slow it down too much. Any thoughts?

Only thing on the mac that will allow this is Final Cut Pro.
FCP will allow customizeable speeding and slowing of the
Playback rate of the file, and will make the change STICK
when saved to .mov, .avi, or .mp4."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

You can do this in QT Player if you have the "Pro" features enabled. Adjust the speed slider (it's not a very granular control so test after you adjust), and "save as" a self-contained movie.
It's possible that you may have to transcode the show into something (like mp4/H264) in order to have this "stick".
I just tried it with a podcast I downloaded and the speed change "stuck" after re-opening the file.
