You should be a little more specific. "bbmepg quits onme" , what does it mean? Did you try any other tool?

I ran into the same problem with bbMpeg, and after searching the web, found a solution. It's apparently only a problem with Windows XP. The workaround is to click "Load" on the first screen (before clicking "Start Encoding".) Cancel out of the load dialog box, and proceed normally.

  7. I think I had the same problem as well... until yesterday, BBMPEG did not do what it normally does. When it tried to split the movie file and and also add the .mp2 file, it stoped right after it finished the first CD. The movie file length is 2 Cds. Whether I set the CD size to be 720 (74mins) or 780 (80mins), it just stopped right after it finished the firsth CD and could not go on to finish the rest.
My OS is Win2K so I dont know the solution "click on Load first" would do the trick or not but will try later today.

  9. i downloaded dvtools last night and it worked great. it is lacking instructions and took me a while to figure out how to use it, but once i figured it out, there was no problems with it at all.

pretty decent program, especially for free !!
