Ok i have a movie clip that is in AVI format and is split up in 2 files, example CD1 and CD2.

Is there a way to put them on a DVD and play it in a home theater dvd player with no interruption, and also add chapters? Thanks in advance.

If you are happy with chapters evenly spaced (say, 5 minutes apart) rather than placed by you then DVD Flick is a fast, simple solution. Add the first AVI, add the second to the same track, then convert. You will get seamless playback.

Most others can give you consecutive playback, but you will get s alsight pause, like a layer break.

Or you can use AVI Demux to join the two parts into a single video use Smart Rendering (only encodes the GOP at the join) and then use whatever converter you like.

what would be a good program to use if i wanted to manually add wehre the chapter ends? it is a fight compilation video so i want to chapter the video by each fight. And also do i need a different program to "convert" the avi or does the program that makes the chapters also burn it as a dvd playable by the dvd player? thanks and sorry im such a noob, i work on cars haha.

DVD Flick will convert it for you.

If you want to place the chapters yourself, you will have to convert the file first, then author.

Tmpgenc DVD Author might encode it for you as well. I haven't used it since the early days, so it probably does a lot more than it used to. It is a good beginners tool which will let you do chapters etc.

DVD Flick converts and authors, but you cannot chose where the chapter points go.

Convert it with HCEnc and author with GUIForDVDAuthor.

    Both are free.

HCEnc does a nice job of encoding to MPEG2 and GUIForDVDAuthor will let you put your chapters where you want (although placement is not frame exact, you'll get the chapter marks pretty close).
