    hi!

I'm having problem with my kworld dvd maker 2800D usb 2.0. I've noticed small squares in the output video and I can't figure it out. It seems like it was compressed but then I did not. im using intel board P4 2.26ghz, 1gb mem and 128mb of video card.
What seems to be the problem? Pls help me.

I'm pretty confident it is compressed. Raw captures are huge, like 60 GB/hour.
And don't hijack threads please. I've split this out for you.

Your device captures using mpeg 4, 2 or 1. All are heavily compressed formats. If you are getting artifacts then you are compressing your video too much.

Use a higher bitrate. If you capture at CBR 8500 you should get a pretty clean video and still be DVD compliant. If you capture at 12000 you will get a very clean video, but you will have to re-encode to get it down to DVD levels.

I haven't used the card (most kworld kit gets very mediocre write-ups, so I tend to steer clear of it) and you haven't said what software you are using. I suggest it is time to get the manual out or start reading help files to find out how you enter a custom bitrate.

If you're aiming at creating Video DVD, capture at the highest possible bitrate that allows you to fit what you're recording to one DVD-R. Don't try bitrates < 4-5000 kbps, as analog video is usually noisy, which eats bitrate. If possible, capture to 1/2 D1.
