Is there any way to improve render times in Premier Pro. I've got a 25 minute video of mixed stills/motion and several effects/transitions built into it, but the render time is rather long.
rendering to wmv 720x480 1200 bit rate and audio bit rate of 192 and it just finished the first pass after 35minutes.
I've got a Q6600 slightly overclocked to 2.8 and 4gbs of RAM.

Try convert with windows movie maker or windows media encoder or wmnicenc with similiar encode settings and see if it's also so slow. WMV9 and VC1 is slow but maybe it could be something else with Premiere.

Unfortunately Premiere Pro and AE weren't really multithreaded..I think the design group was working overtime trying to get the GUI and seamless integration into full swing...
Fortunately, they caught up with the CS3 Production bundle..
You'll need to go to the Adobe website to get the best performance recommendations..
Sorry i couldn't be of more help.
