I'm using TMPGEnc to convert my Avi to VCD(Mpeg)
but in some of the movies, the converted file is soundless(video OK).
I tried The EasyCDCreator 5 and it comes out OK but it takes forever
untill its ready.
What am I doing wrong (I red the TMPGEnc menual - and again some of the Avi r coming out OK)?
what do I have to do to convert the same files with TMPGEnc ?
Is there another program (not demo - converts only 30 sec) to convert a long/full movie?

Check on the side panel under OTHER , TOOLS, and go down to ENCODERS. (It's a ways down) I have been using the small program AVI2VCD, it always works and seems faster then other programs. Just point it at the avi file and off it goes. Have never had a problem

But I have a Windows NT and I cant work that program without DirectX 8.1 which is not on this windows version
The VirtualDub alert me about a VBR streem and not CBR how do I change it? -
Hi
It also happened to me to loose the sound when I converted from AVI to VCD.
Apparently it was because the sound was compressed in MP3.
I used decompress.exe furnished with AVI2VCD to decompress the sound. (I don't know if it needs also DirextX 8.1)
I obtain an AVI with a PCM format for the sound.
After that I use TMPEGEnc to convert it to VCD.
Good luck

But the decompressor need DirectX 8.1 too.
I need a different decompressor, where can I get one?
