I have downloaded the same video in Flv and in DivX file formats and am using Dvd Flick to burn the videos to cd-r discs. Other than the big difference in size of the files, are there any reasons to use one rather than the other?

  2. Divx will play in standalone Divx/DVD players.

Most FLVs you'll find on the net are usually lower bitrate/quality videos. That said, you can use whichever one you prefer; the quality of the videos actually depends on how they were created. The DivX video in your example could be lower quality than the FLV, for all we know.
