Now, I've only ran into one decent sized problem so far with streaming from my computer to my box. The Xbox 360 supports divx, but only certain versions of it. It doesn't support Version 3.0 or V3. Now I have a couple of files that are encoded in this version of the coded, and they won't play on the xbox.

I know this is the problem because I've done a bit of searching online.

Anyways, does anyone know how to convert one version of Divx to another?

And if there is no way to convert divx to divx, what file format should I convert it to so it will stream?

Sure, just re-encode it. VirtualDub and the Divx codec will work. You will lose some quality, though. I'm assuming your problems are with the old DivX :) 3.11 codec?

Raise your bitrate and you will minimize the quality loss, but the file will be bigger.

Thank you for the quick response, but when I tried to run VirtualDub with the specific file. It crashed, and says this -

"An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'ffdshow'...
    ...reading address 00000000...
...while querying video codec with FOURCC "ffds" (w32videocodec.cpp:435)...
    ...while attempting codec negotiation: fccHandler=0x33766964, biCompression=0x33564944 (w32videocodec.cpp:526)."

    and causes me to exit.

Is there any way around this, or can you guide me doing this please?

If not, what format should I convert it to that my Xbox 360 would support?

You might try installing the DivX :) 3.11 codec. I'm not familiar enough with ffdshow to know if it can decode that format for VD use. https://www.videohelp.com/tools/DivX_3.11
