I just purchased a HVR-1600 and installed in an HP minitower I have. It is a 1Ghz Athlon with 40 GB drive. It has a clean install of XP SP2. This is my first shot at TV Tuners and wanted to play with it a while and then build a Media Center PC.
I have a problem right out of the bag. I installed the card and drivers no problem. It scans and finds my 60 analog channels - OK. When I tune to one I get stereo but no video. Running WinTV2000 there is a button for preview. I do get a 2"x2" preview of each channel captured as a still. I never get video.
The vid card is an nVidea GForce2, so its older, but does have 256MB on the card. It plays video and CD OK.
I can't decide whether the PC is too slow, Video card not cutting it or if I have a faulty HVR-1600. From reading the forum there are a lot of people running on a lot less equipment.
Any pointers?

GF2 is way to old but you should go to shspvr.com and look for overlay

Looks like the GF2 is the problem. I found it will record and it playsback fine on another PC. I'll just go grab a later model AGP card.
Thanks
