    Hi,
I have tried to backup this DVD9 in NTSC to DVD5 but can't get it to work.
The DVD9 NTSC plays well on both PC and TV's DVD player but not the backup.
It seems to be a write problem I think.

  2. How did you back it up?

Perhaps the DVD9 is copy protected.

    DVDFabPlatinum or AnyDVD usually work

I used AnyDVD with DVDShrink and burned it with Ashampoo.

I must have done something wrong.
I will try again or should I use something else than Ashampoo?

  4. Anydvd lists their version history and what new movies support has been added. Is your movie on that list?

Does your "shrunk" video files play on your pc?

EDIT: I missed your title Do you mean your standalone DVD player is PAL?

    AnyDVD 6.3.0.6
Where can I find the list? It is an old DVD made in 2002, I think.
The "shrunk" files play on the PC.

  6. I was thinking if it was a newer DVD, it might not have been updated yet by anydvd authors. If the backup files play fine on your PC, then try imgburn (free). It wouldn't be the first time someone reported problems with ashampoo

    Here is the version history

Which magazine gave away Ashampoo recently in Australia ? All of a sudden there have been a series of posts saying that DVDs they burned won't play, and all were burned with Ashampoo.
