I have a Tevion Model no TCHT 2000 home thater system, I burn my films using nero and everytime I go to play them on my dvd player it reads unknown disc, is there anything I can to to be able to watch these copies? The CDR's are Memorex and the films above 700MB I use infiniti DVDR's.
These discs will play ok on my other DMTECH LCD TV/DVD player in a different room but I want the home theater sound!!

Can you put the DMTECH LCD TV/DVD and the Tevion Model no TCHT 2000 home thater system together?

Before you start rewiring your house, lets go back a steps.
What exactly are you trying to do ?
You have some avi files that are around 700 MB in size. These sound like pretty standard Divx/Xvid type files. You can confirm this using g-spot.
You want to play them in the Tevion.
Does it read Divx/Xvid videos, or does it only play DVD Video ?
If you are converting the files, how are you doing it ? Programs, processes etc need to be listed.
How are you burning them ?
Have you tried better media ?
You need to give us a lot more information is you want useful answers.Read my blog here.

Sounds like he is trying to play avi type files on a player that doesn't support file playback. The 2000 series Tevion players don't appear to support Divx playback.

The films are standard Divx/Xvid type files and I want to play them on my Tevion player, I have feeling my Tevion only plays DVD..I am not converting the files I am burning them with nero burning rom , they play on my TV/DVD player in another room, it is a newer piece of kit...I have not tried other media..
The DMTECH is a tv/dvd so i cant see it working the home theatre,
looks like my player simply dont play these files...
is there any other DVD home theatre systems on the market which are not very expensive?
thanks for all your help folks -
Brimac - Most DVD players don't support Divx/Xvid at all, so it's not surprising that your Tevion player won't play them.
TV/DVD combo units are a VERY BAD idea. Please don't buy such devices in the future. Today's DVD players are not designed to last. If you get 3 years of service out of one, you've done well. To keep prices low, DVD player manufacturers use cheap components that won't last. Also, the players don't have cooling fans, so damage from heat buildup is possible unless you have a lot of open space around the player. Once the DVD player inside your TV stops working, and it will stop working eventually, you're just going to have to buy another DVD player anyway. Note that such DVD players in combo units typically don't play DVDs from other regions, support formats like Divx, and have other negative "features".
Philips makes a varitey of DVD players that are cheap, support Divx/Xvid reasonably well and can be put into multi-region mode. As far as suggesting a home theatre system for you, that really shouldn't be necessary. I suppose it depends on how it's made, but in theory you should be able to simply connect any DVD player to a home theatre system.
