  1. DVD-R DL disks are rather expensive if it's simply to make movie backups or home made movies, but they are useful for backups. However, I was wondering if there was such a thing as Rewritable Double Layer Disks? I can't find any, so I'm guessing no, but I could be wrong.

    Thank you

I could be wrong or mis-remembering this, but I thought I saw someone post a pic of a label for these. The catch was that they were very pricey, and only being sold some places in the Far East -- notably Japan. If so, probably won't do us much good.
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

I posted a photo of a DL RW box some time ago. Never found any for delivery, though they were reportedly available in Hong Kong. I suspect they are near impossible to manufacturer and too expensive to be worth it. Also it's unknown if any burner could use them. The manufacturer was JVC and the one price I saw was about $20US. JVC never listed them on any of their sites. Probably outmoded by Blu-ray or other HD discs anyway.

    I found the jpeg:

I Googled "dvd-rw dl" and got plenty of hits, but not one linked to an actual source. Can you share just one of the many sources you discovered?

Mitsubishi ended development on the discs because reflectivity was less than 10%, and the DVD spec minimum is 18%. Most Mitsubishi media is well above the minimums, too.
