  1. I recently bought a new drive and I don't know what folder Vegas uses to store its temporary files, but would changing the value of both TEMP and TMP folders under "Environmental Values" to the location of my new drive work? Or is there another way I can use my new drive as the primary drive for temporary files?

You set the drives for Vegas under Options -> Preferences : General Tab.

  3. Ok thanks. Also, I have my drive set into 4 partitions, one of them being 120 GBs for use of temporary files. I think it may be a lot but I don't know how much I should set it to for Vegas temporary files.

That depends on how much filtering and effects work you plan to do. Rendered clips are stored as tmp files.

It depends on the size of your projects. For most work it is probably overkill, but if you have multiple large projects on the go at once you might need a bit.

You also gain more performance putting your temporary files on a different drive. Partitions can make management easier, but they offer nothing in the way performance because you are still using a single drive and working the heads back and forth.

  6. Actually, I set the temporary files folder to my new drive apart from the drive that I was originally using. So should I just set it as one huge partition instead of splitting the drive into 4?
