Ok well , i'm trying to put a trailer together for a class project and one of the scenes I need is in Independence Day , kind of at the beginning of the movie where the spaceships are disconnecting from the main ship and are coming down to earth.
Well anyways I've used DVD Decrypter/DVDshrink/DVDFab and Ripit4me and every single time after they are done I can't find some scenes IE the one i need and ones where they are playing Chess in the park etc , I've checked every single VOB file and they are just not there it's freaking me out since the project is due next week.
Help Pls
PS , also does anyone know of a scene in a movie where Christ is in the Air after his ressurection?
tks in advance

The scene with the ships dropping out are in both versions, so it is there and you just need to look more slowly. If I remember rightly, the shot is only a few seconds long so FF may skip over it.
The chess game might only be in the extended version, so make sure you rip the right one.
You might find a Christ scene like the one you want toward the end of Dogma, but it's been years since I watched it, so I could be wrong.Read my blog here.

Did exactly what you said and i got the same thing again and again , it's like a few scenes are missing atleast 7 mins of film is gone between VTS_06_01.VOB and VTS_06_02.VOB , it's kinda weird , i've checked every file in the folder also to see if it's someplace else but it's not there.

Hi I would do it this way..
1- Copy the dvd to your hdd with ripit4me (movie only) and discard the the dvdshrink process
2 - demux the movie with pgcdemux (now you will have a .m2v and .ac3 file)
3 - Open the .m2v file with mpeg2schnitt (the .m2v and .ac3 file must have the same name NOT same extension)
4 - cut out the wanted part and save it (output will be .m2v and .ac3 file)
5 - If you want a mpeg file mux the .m2v file and .ac3 file with ImagoMPEG-Muxer

dimpayne,
might be a silly ?, but you never really stated that you ACTUALLY viewed your DVD to verify that the scenes are ACTUALLY there. obvious I know. -
K will give that a try Stars
Noki , yes i viewed the movie 2 times on my DvD player and the scenes were there w/ the origi movie disc , but when i ripped them and then transferred the files into Sony Vegas they didn't show up.
it's kinda weird that the scenes i need to make the trailer aren't there though , maybe somebody upstairs doesn't want me to make it =p -
Well i downloaded everything but I can't figure out how to demux it , sigh oh well

did you play the RIPPED files with a software player to verify the scenes? try to match the time (playtime) with the settop viewing and software viewing.
