can some one help i have tied to capture with a few diffrent progs
but the quality always seems to be rubbish .
i have an athlon 1.6 xp 512 ddr and i am trying to capture from an ati tv wonder card . can someone offer any help on how best to do it and what s the best proggy to use

Can't really help directly, but from what I've read, getting the correct drivers in place is a real work of art. Search the forum for ati and you'll find a bunch of info. Also, it would help if you included your type of ati card. Good luck

I think Virtual dub is the best around. I'm venturing a guess you European so capture at 352x576 using a 2:1 cubic reduction (under video menu) with no video compression or Huffy if you have to. This will get you a 352x288 avi file that you can feed into TMPGenc to make very good VCDs (just barely less than 200 lines of resolution).
