OK, I was told that I should change the speed for slow motion when editing. However it seems choppy and not so fluid. I am editing HDV 60i and I dropped the speed 50%. Is there any other way to create slow motion?

it seems the 60i is the problem. I read somewhere about using motion. Any tips?

James, you have the whole FCS2package correct?
if so you should spend sometime reading the manuals
for motion and the chapters on retiming technique."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I know I should, but I live in a information now world, so instead of searching forever in a thick as book with smaller writing then the bible, I just thought I would give this a shot. I figured it can't hurt.

unfortunately my friend, since your swimming in unfamiliar waters
for some of us ( using HDV instead of SD), the manuals are going
to be your friend in the information you seek.
You might also try a local MUG in your area; they are more plentiful
and chances are you will find people doing what you do, and can share
ideas with them."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
