How Do you removelogos and watermarks from videos

I don't know much about computers but I do love to download tv shows and movies and they always have these annoying logosmy friend hooked me up with a dvd and i ripped it to my computer to put it on my ipod and i wanna get rid of this logo i don't know what ype it is but what is the easiest way a newB can get rid of this logo. here is a picture

I want to remove the logo and i was following this guide because it looked easy and i got to the part where i am supposed to make the second image and when i tried to move the slider i got the error message xvidcore.dll not found could someone please help me.
