  1. Hi, hope someone here can help me.

I am trying to create a DVD with clips from various films and TV programmes and have used DVD Shrink to create these clips and save them to my harddrive. While that was no problem for some reason Ulead Movie Factory won't recognise the video_ts format, meaning that I can't upload the clips to the menue. I have tried various ways, such as dragging the file onto the screen (comes up with an error message saying that the file format is not supported) or 'Importing File', which comes up with the right files and even opens them. I then get to a screen where I need to click on the titles that imported (little tick boxes) but as I am trying to click on them the programme will just shut down and return to the start screen.

Any idea what is going wrong? I have a vague recollection that this used to work for me a few years ago when I needed clips to show at a conference but now I can't for the life of me remember how I got it to work...

Please don't cross post. I removed your other post.

You should select to import a dvd in ulead movie factory but it might not work with all dvds. Another method would be to use VOB2MPG on the VIDEO_TS folder and then import the mpg in Ulead.

  3. Sorry about cross-posting - won't happen again!

And thank you for the advice - I'll try that and report back.

TDA is a much easier interface - even for the extra $30. I abandoned DVDMF back in the day when Ulead claimed to support .vro files - but didn't; and their tech support was decidedly unhelpful.

  5. DVDMF will work if you rename the *.vob to *.mpg
