Hello and thanks first off to anyone who can solve this problem.
I have tried everything from convert x to nero, to WIN AVI. I found WIN AVI at the end and it worked... well did work. I put my series of the programme i wanted. it allowed me to fit 2 and a half episodes on one disk. I did it and MAGIC!!! no jumping!! this was great and i was over the moon.........
I then tried a film yesterday.. It started jumping and skipping about hour and 20 mins into film!! Tried on other DVD players and nothing happened. Worked fine!
If i download a whole DVD film (4.5gb) and just burn the ISO then it works fine. But converting a AVI to DVD and then burning using nero when doing a film is becoming a problem.
Can anyone help. I read somewhere that i should burn it then copy the disk i have just burned onto and that would fix it. Im at work so cant try that yet.

Well i tried that ImgBurn and it skipped in same place when i went to the place it skips... but only did it once lol and is playing in background as i type... SO have no idea if its just a fulke yet.. il replay it soon.
How to i get the log of a burn. Does NERO store it somewhere?
It ony happens when i have converted divx's (avi's) though.

Na its still jumping
... I have another dvd player next to it and it doesnt jump in that one.
Can anyone please help.. -
Start with
1. What media are you using ?
2. Scan the disc with DVD Info Pro or Nero CD/DVD Speed. Do a read scan and an error/speed scan. If you need to, post the results here.
It certainly sounds like a media issue. If the media is low quality or poorly manufactured, the most likely effect is that it will have problems toward the outer edges of the disc, which is the second half of the playing time (DVDs read from the inside out on single layer discs or the first layer of dual layer discs). This is why poor quality discs nearly always show break up and jumping in the final 15 - 20 minutes of play.
Also, not all players are created equal, and some players are more tolerant of certain media than others. This explains why the disc plays fine in one player, but not in another. Unfortunately, there is no universally playable media. The best you can do is buy the best quality media you can, and accept that it won't always play perfectly in every player.Read my blog here.

I have tried Philips +Rs, DVD-R's, (3 different types of DVD-Rs) and all do same. After burning using that ImgBurn the jumping has become less than before, the film now plays all way to end where as burning straigh with NERO BURNING ROM wasnt letting the film finish just froze after allot of frezzing and starting. ... so maybe this is a start.
How can i tell if when im burning im burning for NTSC as feel i may be burning to PAL? as the other DVD player is PAL but my main one is multi.. so thought that may have something to do with it. -
When you say jumping, do you mean the picture rolls up the screen ? or do you mean that the image breaks up, pauses, and skips ?
Also, you might want to look up the exact discs you have in our media database. Philips carry discs from a lot of suppliers, and a lot of it is rubbish.Read my blog here.

My mates just giving me disk that i have just tried with a film he burned....
His version doesnt jump once. Mine jumps none stop.
He burns with Roxio. I burn with Nero, but have been using Img Burn. Still same thing.
The disks are DATAWRITE TITANIUM -R's.
So is this Nero? or my DVD writer? as His Writer is my old one from my pc of 3 years ago...
Cheers in advance. -
Ive just ordered 100 "DVD-R NON Printable: Taiyo Yuden Silver 8 x Duplication Grade DVD-R"
Ive been told these are best to get and also read on alot of forums they are as well.
I ordered them off BIG POCKETS which all my mates use and they were reduced from £38.99 to £18.99... so il see what they are like.
Alos.. i rang pc world as my pc is under guarantee and they said it may be my dvd burner .. they have sent me a replacement out which i should get this monday. Do u think it could be the disks or the actual dvd burner.. i hope so as this is very frustrating.
