Are the Pioneer 18 x and Philips 20 x drives good? Which is better or you know the other best DVD drive?

The best SATA internal dvd burner right now is the SAMSUNG S203B 20x drive. If you have SATA ports on your mobo take this drive into consideration. But if you don't then my suggestion would be to get the PIONEER 112 or LG62N, LG H62L or even the SAMSUNG 183L. The "L's" mean the drives have LIGHTSCRIBE TECHNOLOGY.

You could get a PCI SATA CONTROLLER CARD if you want to get the SATA SAMSUNG S203B dvd burner. Check out the review for that dvd burner at Cdfreaks.com.

I would stay away from the PHILIPS drives. They're probably rebadged LITEON's.
