I have a HD Samsung television and a Sony HDR-HC7 camcorder. Using the connection for HD connection (not HDMI or iLink) I get a picture on the screen no problem.

However, on connecting the audio cable as well I get no sound onto the TV.

Clearly I am doing something wroung but do not know what.

    Any help gratefully received.

The problem is likely how you are connecting the audio and video to the TV.

    Info from Sony website:

Thanks for the note. It did not really help me though. Let me try and explain more of how I am connecting.

I have a component video cable connecting the cam to the TV - single connection from cam to Y, Pb, Pr on the TV. THis shows me the video no problem.

For audio, I then use an A/V connecting cable - single connection from cam into red and white on the TV - result, no sound.

Could the A/V cable be faulty.

Would it be better to get an HDMI cable?

    Thanks
