Hi guys,
Wonder if you can help. I recently purchased a Philips DVP5980, mainly for it's upscaling and ability to play .avi files.
I created a disc last night with 5 movie (.avi) files on it and it works perfectly. Tonight however, I created a disc with another 5 movie (.avi) files on it and when I put it into the player, it says "No Disc".
What could be causing this? I used Sonic record now with XP for the first disc I created wich works and used Roxio and Vista for the second which is failing. Could it be this?
Also, the second disc I used is manufactured by Philips and the first by Tevion. Saying that, both are DVD+RW 4.7gb.
Any ideas guys?

Well the obvious test would be to burn the 2nd 5 movies again, using the same procedure of discs and programs as the first 5 burnt on your first disc.
If you get a satisfactory result as per your first disc then you should discard the 2nd choice of burning as the problem.
I have had troubles with discs in the past being excepted by my burner. -
In other words, burn the same 5 movies from the first disc onto the second disc using the same process. This will verify if you are having a media compatibility issue. If it works, then it is likely a file issue or just a mistake during the burn process. If it doesn't work, then the player likely doesn't like that brand/type of media.
