Hi everyone, I wanted to know for the sake of a friend that if the RH7521W is able to record HD playback.
Here in Australia we've got numerous channels that have HD (upwards to 1080i) material broadcasting prime time shows. I'd like to know if its possible with the input of a HD set top box to record such things. I'm new to this sort of thing, but however I don't see anything relating to digital formats that it can record on the LG website itself.
If it is possible, would the RH7521W retain the HD quality that it streamed with ?
Thanks for the support.
Ciao.

At this time you MUST buy a BluRay recorder if you want to record HD signals in HD. While a regular DVD recorder can technically record an HD signal, it will do so in standard definition and you will lose all the benefits of HD (resolution and high bit rate).

No, it will not. That model only records SD format, not HD. You could record/save HD content using an HD-DVR. But that would be HDD based and not DVD based. There are currently no DVD recorders that support HD.
As noted by jman98 above, there are new Blu-Ray recorders for this purpose, but I believe they are only available in Japan.Google is your Friend
