  1. Apologies if this topic is covered in a guide or another thread. I've had a look and haven't been able to find anything, so here I am.

I'm attempting to rip some anime dvd's for VCD conversion, and I would like to associate the japanese soundtrack (secondary) to the finished product. I've found subtitle guides, but haven't bothered following them yet, as I'm waiting to get the audio sorted first.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? (I've been told the track lies in the .ifo file that is ripped along with the .vob's)
    Cheers

  2. It would probably be worth your while to have a look at the DVD ripping guides at http://www.doom9.net as they will cover this in much better detail than what is possible here.

If you rip using the DVD2AVI method, you can select which soundtrack to use with DVD2AVI.

If you rip with FlaskMPEG, you will have to also copy over the relevant IFO file and load that with FlaskMPEG. You will then get a selection of the video title, audio track and subtitle track.

For anything with subtitles, I personally think that the FlaskMPEG method is much easier/neater/better than using DVD2AVI and frameserving.

    Regards.
