I seem to be having audio decompress problems with a movie i want to make audio louder in VirtualDubMod can anyone help

It's not your fault because Gspot returned bogus audio information, but you actually have DTS audio. "Dolby" and "DTS" are NOT the same thing. You need something that understands DTS. Installing a software DVD player should work. There may be some freeware DTS decoders, but you'll have to look. http://www.doom9.net in the Downloads section (then go to the "full software page" link at the top of the page) and look for the DTS / AVI Filters link. They MIGHT help.

Virtualdub doesn't support DTS. Even playback of avi's with DTS audio seem to use an AC3 plugin workaround.

hadn't actually taken an interest in the topic.
So,
What exactly do you want to do?
If it's just playback volume.
Install Ac3filter and see what you can do with that.
Do you want to convert the audio in any case?
A few tools for it. Like foobar.
Personally i'd use Behappy and go to ac3.
As for Vdubmod.
