    hi,
    im new here. Can anyone help me by providing a "VIDEO CONVERTER"
    which can make compressed Divx or Xvid files(Pl.s suggest any other).
    i tried virtual dub but couldnt use it properly.pls help

    What is your source material?

    The best thing Ican suggest is to do some more searches and look into the tools section on the left under "LISTS". All the tools are needly categorized by conversion and format.

    There is some tools that are front-ends to command line conversion tools that can convert from and to many different formats. Media Coder, MEgui, StaxRip, AutoGK and so forth.

    i have avi, mpeg, rm, etc formats, i wanna convert them into a single compressed format any sugessions

    SUPER is one of the few that will handle most formats, but you won't get the best possible output. That said, with such a mix you won't find much else that will do them all.
