    Has anyone bought one?

I happened to see the Kodak one running in demo mode and it was doing a movie. Still think they are klunky and way expensive for what they are but... shoot, I don't want to be the first adopter.

any fb on models, input, fail modes, etc?

I haven't read any really good reviews of any. Even the best reviews always caveat anything good they say by adding that it is "only good compared to (insert previous crappy model here)", and not good in it's own right. The resolution is also pretty low the ones I have seen - around the level of those crappy portable LCD DVD players. Certainly not worth the money they ask for them.

I'm having an issue with the local art center; they are actually anti computers; as if digital art threatens oil painting somehow... long story.
I thought mebbe there'd be some price crash on these frames coming up, as I don't see them anywhere, I could scoop up a few and create a show I've been imagining.

Handguy might be onto something. You can probably pick up some older laptops cheaper than most frames, and get 1024 x 768 resolution (three times or more than most frames). The issue is how to hide the laptop itself, but I'm sure there is plenty of info on how to strip out and LCD from a laptop and re-purpose it.

  6. There is. It should be on the net how to build your own photo frame or something.
